Good question, I reached out to Meso about availability of his version. He never replied back, so I take that as a no. I doubt that the OP will sell just the 3 arms that he includes in his kit, so I haven't asked yet.

Part of the coolant system upgrade, mechanical coolant temperature gauge..

2nd Gen. Side Pillar Gauge Pod Mount from Lo-Tex. Will house a coolant temperature gauge, and a transmission temperature gauge. Gauges are the Auto Meter Spek-Pro series. The gauges have programmable settings that will change the color of the face of the gauge when high/low temp are read. The transmission temp. gauge will also be used to control a transmission cooler fan relay, one of the cool features of the Spek-Pro gauges. Unfortunately the transmission temperature guage is back ordered nation wide

Adjustable gauge brightness when headlights are off. This is at max brightness. The brightness of the needle is also adjustable..

Face turns red and flashes when a programmable temperature is detected, and the "Hi" will also blink..

 

It's the little details that count for a install that has quality and craftsmanship, and won't have the need to be redone..

Using the temp gauges for the coolant for the fan is clutch. anything special there is just one of the features of it? I’d love to have that.

 

In my application, I'll be using a Lingenfelter PWM Fan Controller to control the electric radiator fan which hasn't been installed yet.

And I'll be using the purple output wire from the transmission fluid temperature gauge to control the transmission cooler electric fan. The operation of the transmission cooler fan doesn't need to be as precise as the Pulse Width Modulated controlled radiator fan. So, a simple on/off controlled function through a relay is sufficient enough for the transmission cooler fan.

Ahh I missed you I saying transmission cooler fan. I also will be doing similar. I picked up a temp gauge but if I could double up with the gauge that’s a newt setup. Which transcooler and fan setup? Forgot which model but I have a Derale fan/cooler setup and same e fan/controller I need to get around to.

 

I'm planning on purchasing the Mishimoto cooler/fan combo dealio. I've earned a huge discount from buying their radiator, silicone hose kit and sender unit adapter. So might as well use it on the trans cooler..

With the gauge's setup, I would no longer need this since its already tapped for the gauge I assume?

 

Found it.. most of the guts to the Radiator Cap that fell into the radiator when I overheated. Sitting at the bottom of the side plastic tank..




This little thingamagigger is a tiny thermostat that opens at 217° to relieve coolant system pressure by allowing coolant to flow into the overflow tank..

 

at least you didnt overheat and blew the head gasket

Unfortunately I do have a leaky head gasket that will be replaced soon. I've had this going on since my last week long trip through Death Valley during Thanksgiving.

Symptoms are, a random misfire on cyl#4. When I say random, happens every, every other cold start. Or sometimes I can go a week and a half - two weeks before I get the misfire again. And when it happens, only happens for no more than 20 seconds. Mode6 data will show where the misfire is happening even if there isn't a check engine light on. And also another symptom, but more of a indication of a miniscule of a head gasket leak. Is that the coolant system is over pressurizing during long drives, especially if there's a long grade involved. The over pressure makes the coolant go into the over flow, and will eventually overflow out of the tank. But, coolant isn't overheating or bubbling. The head gasket will be the final stage with the coolant system upgrade.

I don't like that Toyota doesn't offer a complete head in the way I'm used to with Ford..

ah gotcha. yea my symptoms where the coolant back into the overflow under just the drive to my shop
I would have liked to do the work myself but i just dont have the time (fun project lol)

 

I think what you have here is perfect. And I almost went this exact route until I found out that certain AutoMeter Gauges can control a relay. If I chose a temp gauge that is not able to control a relay, then I would have gone your route exactly.

This is why my dual battery setup took so long. I even used red color braided loom for the positive wires, and red heat shrink 3:1 with glue. Hand crimped each lugs on all of the wires.
