I went to a car show in Hamburg that ended up being a mere swap meet, and while I got some great pictures, I wanted to make a legit road trip out of it; I checked the GPS and found out I was less than an hour from Centralia! As I said earlier, I am likely not going to be able to afford spontaneous road trips anymore due to the rising price of a gallon of gas; It was a perfect day today, so I decided to get my "spring" trip done a little early. I have every intention of going back with my two best friends sometime before this summer!

Hard to believe that about 30 years ago, there were buildings here, and this place had still had like over a thousand residents!

My truck's A/C had to be evacuated and disassembled during the frame replacement last November, but it got pretty warm today and I am happy to say that Thompson Toyota did a good job of putting it back together again and getting it fully operational!

My truck did surprisingly well off the beaten path, no doubt due to the 2" lift (more pictures later), though is what resulted in the minor boo-boo on the crossmember...

 

I was afraid of warping my new brake rotors (AGAIN; The first time, the manufacturer replaced them under warranty), so I didn't bother crossing this huge puddle...

 

Yesterday was the first time l used my AC since last year, ran it about 15 minutes.

 

So, two or three weeks ago, you told me you would never pay more than $300K for a house; This is a fairly new neighborhood just outside of Centralia that I saw when I was up there a month ago, and I actually stopped there on the way back leaving today...

I looked the neighborhood up on Zillow and a few of these places are 10-15 years old, but a few of the houses are brand spanking new and there are a few unsold lots that do not have houses built yet; This was is what about $300K will get you in an area where you can get old 3-bedroom rowhouse costs less than what my dad paid for his GMC Yukon!
