I've posted about this before, my 2006 Colorado was a piece of junk. GM cheated me at every corner on a warranty job, when the truck was still under the general powertrain warranty plus the "Secret" one on the cylinder head that I found in 3 minutes online..which nobody else knew about, ho ho ho. This "free" repair cost me almost 2K and everyone blamed everyone else but wouldn't do anything to make me whole.

Agreed it sucks when repairs that shouldn't happen happen, but had they done what their warranties said and fixed it I'd have no issues. Their deception and crooked behaviour is the reason I won't own a GM as my daily.

You spoke about your wife and daughter in your original post. I'd start with you wife, who with some luck is your partner. Look at your finances together. Have college figured out for young jedi? Probably going to be a wedding out there somewhere. There is a balance between living for today and having a long term plan. Only you or you and your wife can strike that balance. License plates and insurance are more on a new truck, every month, every year. If you truly love you truck, make a few changes that make it special or you again and smile while you drive it. If there is money in the budget and it's a big deal to you and your crew, go for the new one.
