I was just thinking the same thing this morning, AR-10 mags are the only thing I think I might want that I don't already have.

I have pondered my orb and I think it would be another money pit for me. I already have a PTR91 to sling 308's and have been collecting those mags for like $6/each.

I'd totally take an HK417 though.

I have an Aero AR-10 clone I built a few years ago and as cool as it is, to be honest I don't know if I would do it over again. I have an 18" DPMS SASS barrel which is part of it but the thing is a heavy ass MF. With the optic on there it outweighs my FN FAL by a bit.

Its hilarious you say that because I have an HK91 with a ton of mags and that's why I haven't pulled the trigger on an AR10. It doesn't have a rail on top tho and I'm not trying to pay $700 for just a mount

My PTR has the heavy match grade barrel. Yeah it's heavy.

my uncle carried a BAR in Korea and he'd probably laugh at us for complaining about weight! lol

I kind of figured when you mentioned the low price of 91 mags. Even new unused mags are inexpensive. Having a real HK is sweet tho!

Anybody know any details on the mag ban with stuff that folks already own? They gonna be grandfathered in? I should probably just go read the bill because I’m having a hard time finding much for details.

Nevermind I found it in the bill.

I do like that they gave us till July to buy as many mags as we can. I don’t even live in Washington but we’ve been kicking around the idea of moving across the river with how things are going in Portland. Was crossing my fingers hoping this one would fail.

My question is; how long until Oregon follows suite?
Cali and Washington have now done it, they are going to pressure Oregon to follow suite so their residents don’t just cross over and purchase from the “free state”…

so this is effectively saying that if you were a new gun owner there would be no point in buying for example a glock 19x ever since you're limited to 10 rounds. Might as well just get something more compact etc?

I think (and hope) it’d be alittle tougher to pass here. Plus even if they did pressure Oregon to follow suit it wouldn’t do shit because Idaho will never play ball with them on mag bans. It’s a Constitutional carry state over there and they actually value their rights.

Yup, you’d have to buy one of the stupid cali/New Jersey mag ban models that just come with 10 round mags.

Luckily I'm always engaged in lawful outdoor recreational activities, or traveling to or from such activities. Otherwise it sounds like concealed carry that includes such a magazine or carrying a reload over 10 rounds would be a no no.

Yeah I was thinking that too. I might have to get some 10 rounders to replace the 12s I normally carry with my p365 for when I venture up to Washington.

Soon enough, I'm sure. Not that I have any intention of doing any pre-compliance, or paying attention to any changes in the rules.

The whole part about recreational activities and etc was the first iteration. The bill that was passed just restricts sale, purchase, transfer, etc. No restrictions of any kind on what you can do with previously owned ones... other than not being able to sell or transfer them.
