Allenfab’s mini-truck and misc. builds

Been a while since I’ve had any vehicle to work on since selling my Tacoma in 2020 (other than my F150, but bolting on store bought parts is not a build). So, figured I’d start a thread on side jobs/personal jobs/and this mini truck I acquired. Anyhow, I had a Cushman “white truck” sent my way from my bro in law that he needs me to get running and useful for a woods/hunting truck. It didn’t run, broken clutch pedal, rotted away gas pedal, fist-size hole in the gas tank, and a missing cv axle up front.

Along with the truck, my bro-in-law gave me $350 cash to get started buying what I need to get it going, so I am going CHEAP with everything . Got it running out of a gas can, but the carb is shot (after twice cleaning it), so doing a Harley cv40 carb swap once the parts come in. Yanked out the gas tank and all fuel lines, cleaned the interior up and got to work.

 

Been slacking on this. Had to cobble together a new clutch cable attachment for the clutch pedal and fab up an entire new gas pedal, as the old one was rusted away. I also threw a CV40 carb on this (common swap on these, it’s a Harley Davidson carb) but it’s still idling just as high as it was before with the stock carb. Need to research more to see what could be the issue.
