It looks like minor damage. You should be as good as new after the repair.

How many video frames can you see the plate? An astrophotography stacking program like “Autosatkkert!” Or “Deep Sky Stacker” May be able to rectify the numbers on the plate if you have multiple image frames.

If you can’t do it, maybe look up an astronomy club in your area, there has to be an astrophotographer nerd with that software near you that can help.

Can definitely confirm first 2 are 6X, last 4 is C743

Possible plate seems to be 6XTC743 (hard to see the third character, but seems to be a T through the blur, maybe a J). Even then, having 6 of the 7 characters makes it easy on the police since the car make/model are clear at least.

Hope you are able to take care of the truck relatively easily. Sucks that it happened.

First few look to me like 6XY

People like this need to go. Texting and driving or whatever distraction was "worth" taking their eyes off the road. And since they left the scene you can be damn sure they aren't upstanding citizens. I might be a bastard (for sure I am), but I would sleep like a baby if I had a pass to purge society of these criminal scumbags.

I’m being serious about using an astronomy image processing program like “Autosatkkert!” - you just need 10-20 video frames to get this:

I tried. Sharpening a blurry image like this isn't easy.

Is it free? Pretty cool stuff.

Either way, good insurance should cover this. Shouldn't need to go to extreme lengths when there is dashcam evidence of a hit and run.
