I wouldn’t feel safe driving with that tire. I’m sure others will say it’s just fine.

Replace it. That's a safety component and losing a tire at 60 MPH is no bueno.

Is the mark on the sidewall what you are referring too? Probably for safety get is swapped out. Would make a decent spare.

Based on your avatar... as long as we don't look in your box, you're neither dead, nor alive.

it’s just the chunk missing up top almost at where the tread is about 0.5 inch depth max. The rest looks like superficial scratches no cuts.

These have 23k miles on them…I might just buy a set. OCD would kill me having the tread wear be different front to back unless I just swap out the one tire to the spare since that’d be free basically but not sure if that would work out well.

I wouldn’t worry about it honestly unless you wheel the truck often. The odds of a rock puncturing the shoulder is very slim.

A puncture is not the worrying part. Driving on something with sidewall damage is a great way to have a blowout. It's more about the pressure than anything else.

Hard to tell how deep it is from the photo, but any significant sidewall damage = replace...

Had a chunk missing on my sidewall on work truck. fleet said it was fine as long as you can’t see any metal. Will update if tire blows.

Did it make it to the cords? If the cords are undamaged the tire can still be run.

Take it to a tire guy. Get their opinion. Pics hard to tell. I’d probably run it in the rear and not think about it. But I’m just an idiot on the internet :turtleride:
