Upgraded my daily carry holster to a Side Car with CAT7 from Trex Arms, man this thing is really nice compared to my old setup. Although it looks really uncomfortable and big, so far it's s comfy as my previous setup.

I finally pulled the trigger on a Blackpoint holster for my P365XL w/ TLR7 Sub. Shown Here

I already have an OWB but it's not canted and does not accommodate my TLR7 Sub. I used these styles for winter or under jacket/hoodies etc etc.

The only downside is the turnaround: 14-16 weeks! oof.

I was going to get a nice looking light brown leather with OD green but I figured there was no point. I got black on black. Hopefully by the end of June it'll be here.

I grew up in Orange County (worst in the state to be a gun owner). My first permit took several months.
Well played. Gotta buy a lifetime supply by July 1st.

Bit the bullet and ordered plates and carrier package last night.
Spartan armor level 3+ with full anti spall coat and extra anti spall sleeve

Will add some ceramic level 4 in future as a lightweight load out.

I get the steel vs composite argument but ultimately started with high quality steel with one of the best anti spall set ups out there mostly because it will last pretty much forever and being in AZ if I throw it in the truck I don't have to worry about heat degradation.

Just my 0.02 but I'd return them and spend a bit more for some Hesco or Hoplite lvl IVs. Even anti-spall coating isn't really meant to catch fragmentation, and sometimes a single shot is enough to deform or break the coating within several inches around the point of impact, causing any subsequent shots in that area to fragment, and now you've got shrapnel in your face, arms, legs, groin, etc. Not to mention the fact steel is really heavy.

Nah I'm good with my decision Spartans anti spall is really really good multiple videos proving 100% containment containment even with 300wm and 338rum. Another with 50ish rounds of pistol and zero escape. As a backup to the full coating added an additional anti spall sleeve. So I have redundant protection against spall

Yeah weight sucks but I'm also used to backpacking with 20-30lbs. As I said I'll be adding a lightweight level 4 load out as well but I'm also all about redundancy and IMO should have one of each. Ceramic is great and has a lot of benefits on its own over steel primarily weight
Biggest plus to steel is longevity and durability meaning when it's 120 degrees in AZ summer I don't have to worry about degradation if I have it in my truck. Plus until they get shot I don't need to replace steel every 5-10 years unlike ceramic. Don't have to worry about it cracking like ceramic if it's dropped hard

No offense intended, but a few videos shot under staged conditions doesn't really prove much. Here's a good article explaining problems with spall coatings better than I can: https://www.apexarmorsolutions.com/post/bullet-fragmentation-can-kill

Anyway, I don't want to give you a hard time, just want people to be safe, especially when you can find decent entry level ceramics for $100-200 more. If you aren't using regularly, sweating in them and tossing around, ceramics will last well beyond their stated expiry date, even with a few months a year in the heat.
