I actually refunded my AA wireless after I saw the certified one by Motorola. I figured I'll have this car for a while so don't mind plugging in my phone for a few extra months. I'm curious what made you choose AA wireless over the Motorola?

Far quicker to connect, it looked like it had less lag compared to the ma1, the USB can be detached and it's a much more flexible cable so you can stash it away easier, and it just has a lot of great reviews. Especially with the most recent update. Plus I can actually get it. Everyone's sold out of the ma1

The Motorola MA1 works great, but doesn't have a detachable usb cable. I didn't like how it hung from the USB port on the dash so I bought a $10 cable from AliExpress that plugs into the back of the radio to replace the dash USB. Plugged in the MA1 and within 15 minutes had completely hidden wireless android auto.

I did a write-up with parts and pictures here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...droid-auto-to-your-2020-in-15-minutes.757606/

I couldn't recommend this setup more for wireless AA. Had it a couple weeks and it has been flawless for me.

I just ended up using a command strip to affix the dongle to the dashboard. Quite pleased with the MA1 after using it for a couple weeks.

Now that I think about it, I have not tried Android Auto on my Tacoma. I have practically new Galaxy Note 10 in my drawer collecting dust. I wonder it it’s possible to run Android Auto via usb semi-permanently with my iphone connected via bluetooth only to the radio .

    Hmmmm….
Any of you smart folks tried it yet?

I just got my MA1 unit in and the setup for wireless AA was a breeze with my Pixel 6. I haven't done any extensive testing yet, but my phone automatically paired and launched AA from my pocket roughly 10 seconds after turning on the truck. I was able to make a hands free call like normal as well.

The MA1 also comes with a double sided gel pad which worked well to stick the unit underneath the USB port and relatively out of the way (and importantly mostly out of sight since I've heard of at least one example where someone had theirs stolen.)

The big thing I'll be watching for in the coming days is how bad the battery drain is, as well as if this has any impact on the Bluetooth cutting out issue that some of us with Pixels have been seeing.

That gel didn't work out the best for me. I ended up using some velcro which has worked for me and keeps the cable out of the way.

I had zero problems with the dongle until a recent road trip. It randomly disconnected twice while driving. One time I needed to restart my phone and the other time it reconnected in a couple minutes by itself. Other than that I've been pretty happy with the purchase.
