I have a 2012 Tacoma Access cab base model with just std radio and CD player. Can anyone tell me what years of touchscreen Oem radios will interchange in my truck? Thanks in advance. Larry

why bother going through the trouble. High quality aftermarket radios exists. Look into the joying radio brand here on the forum. Many have installed them and have been happy with them.

Lots head units to pick from that's better than OEM.

    Check out Crutchfield

Bulldog, I get that you likely want to leave the cab stock looking. I like that look as well and wanted to do that for my 2015. I explored using an upgraded factory unit as you want to do but I discovered that it wasn't as simple as just swapping the head unit, (I did that in other base model vehicles I purchased). I kept some notes over what would fit and what additional parts are needed, but I cant seem to find them at the moment.

But as the others have posted, I realized you can do much better quality and price wise buying an aftermarket unit. Because the aftermarket units are all touch screen now, it is not so obvious that you have swapped out the OEM unit. I put in a Pioneer model that allows me to use Android Auto through my Samsung phone, as well as Spotify, Pandora, etc. and I kept the factory speakers which are pretty darn good with the Pioneer unit. I will grab the model number and a pic for you tomorrow when it is light out.

Definitely get aftermarket double DIN with CarPlay and Android Auto. Many to choose from. I am running a Pioneer, had a JVC back in the day. The stock POS came out after the first year. Get the install kit and the harness adapter to make it easy.

The same shit everyone else has.
Search my name. I did a diy for fitting a factory touchscreen radio into older trucks.
