Hey guys my 2015 with tow package has been giving me a headache. One morning the hazards were not turning off. I checked all the fuses and everything was fine. I took apart the steering column cover and replaced the flasher module. This didn’t solve my problem either. I figured it was a battery problem so I took it to have it tested. They said cold crank amps were a little low so they charged it for me and said it tested good. Nothing I have tried has fixed the issue. Anyone out there go through anything like this?

There is a single wire from the hazard switch to the flasher that controls the hazard lights, that wire could be shorted to ground or open or you could have a bad switch.
You can check the wires at the switch with a meter, pin 7 (White/Black) should be grounded at all times, Pin 9 (Red/White) should have power with the switch off and be grounded with it on.
Have you done any recent work modifications that could have led to a compromised wire?
I had a Jeep come to the shop one time with the hazards stuck on, it turned out the owner had installed fender flares and drilled a screw through a wiring harness.

(edit) actually now that I think about it the simplest test would be to unplug the switch, if they stop flashing with the switch unplugged you have a bad switch, if not you have a shorted wire.

Found the culprit. Bad negative battery terminal ground.

Luv to read how a bad negative terminal would cause continued Haz to operate...

I was curious about this as well although from experience bad grounds can cause all sorts of strange things to happen, I suppose what matters is it's fixed:thumbsup:

Mine was sticking after replacing the stock head unit, which included replacing the dasp plastic around it. The aftermarket dash plastic just needed some tweaking with a file.

I can't imagine how a bad ground would cause it to stick on.

As crazy as it sounds the ground wasn’t make a good enough connection. Changed the ground connector and the truck went back to normal

A wise old Service Manager at the marina I used to work at once told me, "99.9% of weird electrical problems are caused by a bad ground." He was almost always right.

My beat up late Friday brain couldn't see it. I've definitely seen strange bad ground stuff. Like my cooked boost controller. Or a stumbling engine 2 other guys couldn't figure out that ended up being a loose ground to body wire coming off the main harness. Or a turn signal that refused to work correctly. Etc...

    Glad you're fixed.
