So thanks to @FlyingWolfe, we have another thing in common.




she was great in keeping me in the loop on how this new helmet worked.
I haven’t been able to run my welders correctly for years because of eyesight changes.
So I pulled out the pocket rocket and ran some beads and I could actually see.
Then I pulled out my big guy and threw a couple of overlap passes with 6011 and 7018 with
Way more amps that I should to set my parameters.
I can weld again..

edit: Dont forget its in grind mode then try to weld. I got warned by @BananaMan (I think) and still did it. Twice.

Negative. She doesnt come out til April-ish. And its paid off so gas prices are a wash.

 

Id buy a horse but theyre even more expensive to own.

Yes it is. That’s why I have like 50 foot leads(I think) so I don’t need to roll it. I had a choice of leads or cord when I overhauled it. I chose cord. And it welds like a mofo..

 

I got mine set for 8 3/4 for the pocket rocket and 9 1/4 for the Marquette. still need to play
With the delay and sensitivity a bit but it’s close.

 

One of my friends has one very similar, it just has an extra three rows of holes to plug into. He claims it goes low enough to weld a soda can if you wanted.

Never seen one with an extra rows you described …..
