Any way to use the existing backup camera to a tablet as I have no camera mirror?

I don't think 2009s came stock with a backup camera. Whatever you have is likely aftermarket, which means you have to look into the brand of camera and what it is compatible with

The 2009 definitely comes with the camera in the tailgate, but I am not sure if the wiring harness is there. I did not opt for the mirror to use with the camera when I bought it new.

The best way to add an aftermarket cam is buy an aftermarket 12v tailgate handle cam and hook it to an aftermarket radio. Much easier to view and install versus dealing with the 6V OEM cam.

I think I might not have worded my question clearly. I did not buy the back up camera option when I bought the truck. However, there is a camera installed in the tailgate from the factory. I wanted to know if there is a solution whereby I can use that camera with a tablet or smart phone. I am not interested in replaced my standard mirror, or radio.

You would need some kind of converter that changes the factory camera from 6 to 12volts. Then you would need to convert the plug from the factory camera plug to a USB/lighting cable depending on your tablet. There is no wireless signal box that I know of that would send the camera signal to an app on the tablet/phone for use.
