Consumer Reports lost all credibility with me years ago when they downgraded the MR2 mark II for poor trunk and storage capacity.

It is not an SUV but a 2 seater sports car with a small trunk, tiny front trunk, storage boxes behind the seat, which in total offer enough luggage capacity for 1 one week road trip for two. I guess according to CR, if there is no room for kayaks, mountain bikes or other assorted sports gear then it is a fail as a sports car.

I like CR, I would suggest you listen to their podcast. There is a lot more nuance when you hear them taking about their favorite cars. For instance one of the editors owns a Tacoma (2nd gen I think) and they all speak fondly of the Tacoma and 4Runner which both score low marks in their official tests. They do recommend the Ridgeline a lot, but they also caveat it every time by suggesting it it’s a crossover with a bed.
I do think the Ridgeline is a good truck for some people. I just couldn’t ever bring myself to buy one since I’d have to look at it everyday lol.
