16 inch wheels

Why do manufacturers treat us 16ers like their red headed step child. So many awesome tires and I cant find them in 16s in a good size. I want mo rubba!

17s get everything and then some. 17s are cool but I like the more look of a 75r16 look on a tire a lot more than 70r17


Ugh, i almost wanna sell my 16s now. I was excited to check out the Nitto Recons but they’re only in 17 size and up.

That’s actually pretty cool. But what are you saying here with this picture. That the 17s look much better?

 

They are the same size tire, 31” but the 16” rim has more rims sidewall then the front 17”

I like the 16” look as well. More meat and softer ride.

why do manufacturers do this? I’m guessing it’s cause they sell mostly 17” tires. Not much interest in the 16” so they don’t waste their money developing a 16” tire.

 

Yeah that’s why I bought my F5s in 16x8. I just had no idea 16 was not popular.

I can’t get the Kanda RT, Nitto Recons and others in 16” and it sucks.

 

I run the General Grabber ATX tires 265/75/16. Absolutely love them.

 

The rear wheels are 16" with a taller sidewall that the front 17" wheels with a shorter sidewall.

 

I hate that you can get a 33 by 10.5 R15 and you can get a 33 by 12.5 R17 but there is no such size for a 16. It makes ZERO sense.

 

There’s also 305/70r16. My buddy has that size his FJ and it looks pretty sweet.

295/75/16 is another option for a 33.3x12

I agree about 16’s not having many choices.

I would really like to find a 16x8 wheel with a 4” backspace. One of the only sets I’ve seen is the SCS Ray10. I’m not a fan of the faux bead lock that holds water.

 

I love to have a 295/75R16 on the FN Five star wheels

 

Are you running the 4.5” or 3.5” BS?

 

I’m running 285 75 16 and the ride is great. D rated nitto grappler AT tires from discount tire

 

16's mo better.

Though diminished in some ways, there are plenty of available good tires.

 

I meant I would love to have. I left that word out my accident . I'm still have stock wheels just plasti dipped until I can afford the FN's. Haha I want the -25 offset because I love the deep spokes. Kinds of like a 80s truck. I'm looking at the grey ones instead of black too.

I like having more sidewall with a 16" wheel. 285/75/16 has been great combo for me
