Ash is the lighter wood, cocobolo is the reddish.

I like cutting salad bowl finish with mineral spirits 50/50 mix. Then apply one coat of that, let soak in and dry. Then food safe mineral oil.

Also, just got to dive in and try stuff...if you feel you need practice try it on cheaper wood first.

Just did a little bit better math and it's around 20% rather than 30%.

Either way, they're worth the cost. Seriously improved my table saw (Still a POS) and my compound miter saw.

I have a old worn out POS compound miter saw that I just don't use anymore. I built a bevel cut sled for my table saw and will be making a crosscut saw next. I get great miters with the sled. I've got the Kline gauge on my shopping list.

Is there a Wordle thread? That reminds me, I need to look at today's puzzle. Hooked.

Ok, until I find the Wordle thread it goes here. Guess I need an account or something to keep track of past score/streak.

Edit to add - this is today's result. Just realized it's the same as what I got yesterday.

Came across this forum out of curiosity. You guys are talented. I've loved wood working all my life but have backed off significantly due to severe arthritis. Here is a project that was 16 years in the making but was determined to finish it this year. Mainly as a tribute to my dad who busted his ass as a fisherman back in Sicily. All from scrape pieces of wood, majority being clear pine and some maple for the stress points. No plans, just memory from when I was a kid and the only black and white photo I have of my dad and his crew and of course, lots of trial and errors and many re-dues. Had to make a shelf cause wife didn't want it displayed on a piece of furniture and recent new base made out of walnut.

There's no official wordle thread to my knowledge. We post it in the stock thread while we wait for the market to open.

Someone is coming over tomorrow. He can use a hand truck and get it out to the shop. Patience…..
