Anyone have led driving lights that they like and not break the bank?

I put LEDs in my driving lights a year ago… love them! Then the day came that one burnt out and I realize that I have water in both lights!

I just bought new LEDs but I think I’ll send them back and buy a sealed replacement. I see sealed units from $45 to $300, most are just butt ugly. I looked at the diode dynamics version, but I’m not looking to spend that much. Does anyone have any suggestions under $100?

I’ve got 37k on my 14, so that tells you how much I drive it. My super white paint is peeling like a snake shedding it’s skin… thanks Toyota. I’m not looking to spend a chunk for all I use it for.

Do you mean fog lights? These would be the lights that came in your truck mounted in the valence / bumper cover below the headlights.

Ok, great. If they originally came with the truck, they are a "fog" pattern light. What are they and what are they used for? Check the following thread out:

Now for the next question. Are you looking for something that just looks cool or something that actually performs? The reason I ask is that generally speaking, you get what you pay for with lights. The "just looks cool" stuff is pretty cheap and doesn't perform or last worth a crap - as I think you've already found out.

If you want my 2 cents on the least expensive way to go, look in the classifieds for somebody selling take out OEM fogs and stick with halogen bulbs. Better yet, look for a set of take-out OEM LED fogs. "Drop in" LED bulbs have all sorts of issues and leaking is just one of them.

I had an inexpensive set of H11 TechMax LEDs and performance wise, they were just fine. I liked them so well I put the same set in my wife’s Camry headlights. Obviously not a good direction for the Tacoma as a second replacement since my enclosures got full of water.

My use is just occasional driving. I like the 6000K color over the halogen and the enhanced brightness. They give a nice low road illumination and they haven’t blinded anyone. I’m not an off roader and I’m not looking for any fancy halo lights, just a basic, white light.

Here's an exact replacement for what you had since you're happy with the LED bulbs - even though I wouldn't recommend them.
