I used to feel that way about people getting in front of me, but then they get inpatient after speeding to a stop and change lanes again. It’s traffic, anybody can get in front of me, they just get nowhere faster. There’s an art to it.

I’m a 2 car length stop behinder.. don’t want to get pushed into the car in front of me when Someone rear ended me staring at their cell phone. And back to the smash and grab thing, I’m gonna have a way out of that. That’s in major metro areas with high crime. I’m not creeping up on you though.

I did nearly the same install except with SPC UCA. How much overall lift did you end up with? Did you use number of threads exposed or inches of threads exposed to determine lift?

Looking good man! When you get your tires and lift the 265/75/16’s might look too small. Here’s mine with my new wheels a couple weeks ago. 265/75/16 KO2’s. They looked good on the factory off-road wheels but look small on these wheels (16x8 with 4” backspace and -12 offset)…..

So, when I ordered from Accutune I let them know I wasn’t looking for any lift up front right away, I was just looking to remove the sag caused by my adding weight (skid and sliders).

That being said, I’m currently going by numb of threads exposed. Accutune shipped my coilovers with 15 exposed threads, which by all my searching should net me 3/4” of lift (thereby lifting my sag and bringing me back to stock-ish).

8 full turns of the collar = 1” of lift

    OR

    5 exposed threads = 1/4” of lift

    *** for 13” x 600lb coils ***

^those are the two rules of thumb I’ve seen passed around this forum.

edit: before and after, not really any noticeable lift with 15 threads showing but it’s back to stock height with all that weight added. Haven’t measured hub to fender yet, waiting for alignment and a little settling.

double edit: post settling measurements: 20.5/21” hub to fender. They nailed it!

I have not done it myself, but some on here are using vinyl wraps on the emblem to cover the chrome.

Stopping that far back, like, I get the reasoning behind it. It's a totally valid reason, but you do know that it annoys just about everyone behind you every single time you do it, right?

No lift for me. Well I mean in the sense of paying to upgrade suspensions components to gain lift for bigger tires. I was referring to the (slight) lift by upgrading from stock 265/70 to 265/75...

In any case thanks for the kind words. I have a set of SCS F5 that should get here by the end of the month so I might go with those instead. Kind of a fluid situation haha...

Those tires you got look good on the Taco.

Yes they will (16-22 are swappable) but those aren't the Pro tails if that's what you're looking for. Those are the SR/base trim tails.

It wasn't today. About a week and a half ago.

I was stuck, I backed up, slid sideways a bit, and the very bottom of my front bumper caught on a log. The truck came out, and the bumper decided that it was going to try to stay with the log, even if it's life depended on it.

The next picture I post in about a week will be the new high clearance bumper upgrade.

Thanks man! Those SCS wheels are solid! I really wanted Ray10’s but not in the budget at the moment. The ProComp’s were buy three get one free plus free shipping from 4Wheel Parts. Maybe Ray10’s later on. Your taco is gonna look good with either wheel and 32’s!

That sucks that it happened but it makes it a lot easier to pull the trigger on the new HC bumper! :D

Very much so! The new bumper will be cheaper than the whole mess of oem plastic and rubber required to repair the whole thing.

Thanks for the information. Good looking setup with the F5s. I've seen similar information but depending on set up, there seems to be some variability. Are those 265s or 285s (I can't quite make out the numbers).

Yeah, OEM can be pretty expensive for just about anything. Glad it wasn’t worse and no one was hurt! Looking forward to seeing the new bumper!

Thanks! You’re right about the variability, I forgot to mention those “preload specs” are for the standard 13” x 600lb coil Fox puts on these shocks. 95% sure about that.

Tires are 265/75r16, the F5s are 0 offset. 285s soon but not quite yet :)

I don’t care about your driving feelings, you’re behind me.. Negative life experiences with multiple thousand pound road lumps of metal forces me to be too cautious. 2 million miles of driving gives you a different perspective. It’s a red light, nobody is going anywhere. Not saying you, just saying, I too am an asshole. On topic wdyd.. applied this magical stuff today

I do not have enough posts to reply to the "ShmellFab LA area" post so I am trying here.

    @Shmellmopwho

    This is the way!

Ryan installed these sliders on Sunday. I went with a bit more extension as my oldest drives the tacoma to school and I don't trust the other kids to not put dings on it. I learned a lot about the Mandalorian set and searched up "the Volume" and all I can is what a game changer for FX. Great guy even though he is a Bronco fan. Thanks Ryan! Here are some pictures after a wash:

Installed my TRD Pro taillights and deAutoLED fog light bulbs. I'm digging the black housing vs the chrome that my original taillights had. I was also very torn between white vs amber fogs. Thankfully I found these deAutoLEDs that cycle between 5500k white, 3000k amber, 4300k white, the white-yellow-white "flash" or 3 pulses white-3, 3 pulses yellow, 3 pulses white. I highly doubt I will ever use the last 2 options (unless during an emergency). Took about 20 minutes to do the entire job. Later this week I will be installing my TRD Pro LED headlights (via sparksparts.com and used chloekuo for a 5% discount) as these stock halogen headlights leave quite a bit to be desired. Next week I will be installing my Body Armor Hi-Line bumper, WARN VR Evo 10S winch and 20" light bar.
