    Hello.
    First timer lol. I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 2.7L 4 cyl with California emission stuff. After 385,000 miles, still all original, I have plugged catalytic converters - there's 2 of them. Replaced one about 6 yrs ago, not wanting to spend that $ again. Question; can I get a junk yard brain form earlier model to omit emission crap. I don't need Deq so any help would be awesome. I built a "spoof" for a few pennies but I'm always un connecting battery to re set computer. Funny I just wanted to comment on a thread involving air cleaner hose. Help please kdsyoder

    98 and earlier have 1 cat for the V6 - can't say for the 2.7. By the time you spend money on a new ECU and a wiring harness, not to mention a new top end for the engine to work with earlier models, one or two Magnaflow cats will be a drop in the ocean.
