Well I have switched back to the OEM headunit for a little bit. Im thinking of getting a sound quality based headunit or upgrade to the new joying headunit since mine is pretty outdated.

I'm still happy with mine even if it does weird crap every once in a while. Not often

Oh I still love my joying, it works great all the time. Thinking I might grab one of the new models in the end. I am going to throw in my old sony mobile es headunit (no screen on it) and see how she sounds :)

I'd really like to get a Pioneer NEX unit, but I just can't justify the cost.

Yeah, prices of aftermarket headunits is dumb expensive. I want the stinger height 10 with the tacoma kit, but im not dropping $1500 on it.

Just got my Joying today. Let the fun begin. Oh joy, these wires a little overwhelming. Haha.

Gonna start by ripping out that crappy stock head unit and take pics of the wires.

Does the external mic need to be connected? I See an embedded mic and also wonder if I can use the existing mic.

Those are slick as shit. I installed one in my buddies wifes Jeep. Super baller status, but dude has the coin to drop on it. He traded the jeep in 4 weeks after I installed it lol

If you want a low cost option to get CarPlay or Android Auto, I was very surprised by how much I like this Boss unit I put in the Accord. Capacitive screen, great backup camera.

I looked at those, only thing that gets me is they are a standard 2 din. That's what I love about the Joying, is it fills the space accordingly. Now if I had a vehicle with a regular 2 din, I'd definitely pick that up. I've honestly heard good things!

Yeah, normal 2 din headunits look super goofy in our trucks. You end up with huge bezels around the radio that makes it look like a original ipad.

I finished the installation in just a couple of hours. To start, the audio is way better even with the stock speakers! I am also happy to finally have Android Auto! That original head unit is garbage!

I will note, that the Android Auto application itself does not work on this head unit, instead Android Auto and Car Play will connect through the "Car link 2.0" application as the interface to display Android Auto on the head unit. Wireless Android auto does work! However, sometimes takes a while for it to connect and if you back up while connecting wirelessly it may not connect and you will need to close and re-open the car link app.

The canbox settings are probably OK since I get my steering wheel functions and the radar sensors display correctly when I backup. I choose RZC>Toyota>Hilux>2015-2018 (I have a 2019 and it works for me)

I have also seen some folks have issues with the quality of the backup camera, there is a setting in factory settings and change HS reversing video format to AHD, I think it looks better now..

Is anyone seeing the backup radar issue where the warnings are shown in the front of the car image?

Yeah you can select that function but we don't have front sensors
