Any chance you could let me know the part number of the camera and wiring harness you have, I’ve been unsuccessful in searching for it.

    TIA

I'm interested to know if you ever found a solution. Doing my research I discovered that there isn't a cable long enough for any rear view cam in a dual-channel system. With a full cab and extended bed, I figured I probably needed at least 35 feet if I wanted to attach a rear came to my topper rear window.

Anyone have good footage from a Garmin dash cam?

I'm using a Garmin Mini with the Dongar attachment. Was side swipped this morning and the video resolution isn't good enough to make out the license plate. settings are at 1080p @ 30fps, the highest it can go im pretty sure.

I guess it doesn't need to be Garmin, but i kinda like garmin stuff.

that sucks. i take it you didn't have the opportunity to stop? looks as if they hit you to avoid rear ending the person in front of them. ugh i would have had a field day with them.

They immediately got on the exit ramp and got off the interstate. i couldnt get off so i waited just past the on ramp incase they came back on. i waited for about 10 minutes but nothing.

havent filed a report with either the cops or my insurance yet. not sure if i should since the damage is pretty minimal. I should regardless and let a reputable body shop take a look

You should file...my insurance co makes hit and run "no fault" and the deductible is half. I really need to get a dash cam for this reason.

I guess Garmin is only making the mini now, so no real upgrades there.

looks like a different brand is in my future

    Oh look, another mod....

Sorry to hear about the accident. Do you have the polarized lens for your Garmin Mini? It looks like there is a lot of glare from the sun in your video. My video's don't have that glare (because of the lens), it makes it easier to read license plates (but it's not a guarantee that you will).

How's the Next base 622GW working out for you so far? I've read a mixture of praises with a majority of horror stories on Nextbase products.

I saw some of those stories, but the other options didn't impress me. So I bought one on Black Friday 2 years ago, and am very happy with it. Last month down south, 1000 miles from home in the glaring sun the screen sort of yellowed out - glare. And it wouldn't go away. Upon pressing the reset button, all is well. I'm still very happy with it. Last year someone cut me off and tore the plastic bumper on my '12 Tacoma, then kept going. I showed the cops the crystal clear video, showing the license plate, and I didn't have to say any more. Now it's at home in my '22 SR/SX.
