Evening folks. Has anyone painted, or recommends painting, the Victory4x4 NMO bracket? It looks to be raw aluminum and I have some concerns about it rusting over time. My thought process is that as long as you sand off the interior of the holes, it still makes good contact with the body thus keeping the vehicle part of the ground plane.

    Any comments or thoughts?

If it's aluminum, it won't rust

I've got one....but not installed yet. Still waiting on a truck. I will be painting the top and sides of the bracket that are exposed, but will leave the bottom unpainted so that the bottom of the NMO mount can get good contact and continuity. I will be putting PVC tape on the top where it contacts the hood. I don't want to have aluminum in contact with the steel on the underside of the hood. I intend to drill and tap the bracket so I can connect a ground wire directly to the bracket.

I just installed mine. I'm going to leave them as is so they get a good ground.
