I'm blasting off to Baja next week with the kids and kayaks for some fishing and 4X-ing. Not before I mount up a 6" x 9' PVC rod holder to my Prinsu rack. Question is, how do I mount it to the rack20220315_200908.jpg . I was thinking of drilling horizontal holes in these mounting saddles and having carriage bolts, slid into the sides of the rack crossbars going through the holes in the saddles. No go. The center of the saddle would be below the crossbar. Any cool tricks or attachments you've used, aside from the hail Mary bungee?

For anyone wanting to carry fishing rods in a PVC carrier, here is the update. I ended up using aluminum Z brackets. Turned out great. Went for a little off road test drive and all was good. Going to Baja on Wed and that will be the real test.
