Any one know what the Factory Tint percentage is on the Rear doors and Back Window for the Trail Edition ? like to have fronts tinted to match or maybe have them all tinted . Any suggestions are much appreciated

 

It's like 30% If you are having it matched at a shop, they will know.

 

Ask your tint people they can tell you straight away.

 

Mine were 40%

 

i dont know but i wouldnt get it tinted at the dealer thats for sure. they just did mine a week ago and there are still bubbles that arent coming out. one clearly has like a big piece of dirt under it too. plus, they dont even offer ceramic. i only did it thru them because they threw it in at no extra cost when i bought it. but now im having to take it to the guy who has tinted my vehicles in the past so he can rip it all off and replace it with ceramic tint.

 

Never get a specialty done at the dealer.

20 percent xpel prime xr matched my rears perfectly.

 

30% tint on 2 fronts is slightly lighter than the rears.

Those rears seem darker then 30% compared to the new 22 Trail Edition.

 

The third gen Tacoma privacy glass is about 24-26% per my tint guy. Just adding a 25% tint might not match the tone 100% based on whatever dye's that specific brand of tint uses. You can spec tint with the proper hue that matches 100% but the shop will likely need to special order it.

 

What would be a close match on those fronts to compliment the stock tint? or maybe have them all done ?

 

I personally think exact matching the rears is a Cop magnet. Just another excuse for them to stop you as it's really easy to spot from far away.
Around here front tint is illegal anyways but the slightly lighter fronts at least minimizes it and allows light through a bit better. From my experience anyways.

 

I took mine back 3 times for them to redo and fix all their mess-ups, lol. It's good now.
I am having the front windows stripped of the tint and going with 15% upfront now.

 

My 2017 tundra needed 20% to match and my son's 2000 Tacoma ext cab, needed 20% as well.

 

Mine was 27~28 and I did 15% ceramic

 

Just had mine done at Zeibart. 30% is very close maybe a hair lighter. Wouldn't go any darker it hampers night vision as far as things in the rear view mirrors. I got 3M Ceramic and lifetime warranty for little over $100 with tax.
