My first new vehicle was an '87 S10 - $8,200 offh-the-lot price. I'm paying 1/3 more than that just in TAX on my '22 DCLB (whenever it shows up...)

Dodge and Jeep offered the first factory 4wd trucks.
Other manufacturers used aftermarket companies to source their 4wd truck conversion kits, often dealer installed until around 1960.

My first new truck was a 1993 K1500 Silverado regular cab short box with leather seats and custom console (the last 1993 4x4 on the lot in November) from Winnebago industries, and sale price was $18,000.00

 

The only new vehicle I’ve ever been involved in buying is our suburban for my wife to drive. My Toyota had 23k miles on it when I got it.

My first brand new vehicle was a 2000 Dodge Dakota Extra Cab 4x4 Sport that was fully loaded. had it until 2011 when a hail storm totaled it along with hundreds of other cars in the area. they had stopped making the Dakotas and Chevy/GMC and Ford small trucks then which led me to a 2012 DCSB 4x4 OR that insurance helped me buy. The 3rd one well.. I went to the dealership for an oil change and decided I like the oil in the brand new (at the time) 2017 DCSB OR better so I swapped vehicles and some cash. Upgrades included heated seats and sun roof and heated mirrors LOL
