Relay holder

Do you guys know of a good relay mount/holder?

I have a blue sea but realize some items I should use a relay. This would be in the back of my truck as I have a battery there and setup for camping with my wedge.

any decent ones for multiple relays that I could mount. Most I’ve seen are meant for the engine bay.

 

How many relays are you looking to mount? There are many options out there.

 

I have one of these, haven’t installed yet.

You don’t buy a holder for a relay, you purchase a system that houses multiple relays and generally has the base wiring built in and includes the mount, very similar to an OE fuse box. A holder like that won’t be too hard to find, but if you aren’t particular an easy route is to find an old vehicle fuse/relay panel and mount it and trace the wires to use. If you are electrically savvy it would look like a pro install with little effort.

 

If you go this route, or any route for that matter, use a good copper wire and pay close attention to your crimping quality, particularly for high amperage circuits. A poor crimp will lead to resistance that will result in high localized heat and melted components. Ask me how I know....

 

for anything above 5 amps or so I like to solder and heat shrink. The heat generated by the losses go up exponentially with current.
