So, fortunately this isn't on the tacoma, but it's on the forerunner that I just picked up. I made a huge mistake buying this thing and it is a giant fucking lemon. But anyway, now that I have it, I need to get it at least in decent shape. It's got a plethora of issues, but right now I'm just trying to listen to the radio, but the fuse keeps blowing instantly. I have changed out the fuse four times now, and as soon as I turn the key, it pops. I'm not sure what else the fuse is for, but it's definitely for the clock and the radio and it's labeled ACC. The 4Runner had this aftermarket alarm that I just pulled out, because I hate those things. I was hoping that fixed the issue but it did not. Is there anything I can try before taking it to a shop?

What year and engine/transmission, I can pull a wiring diagram and see what else is on there.

Keep putting in higher amp fuses until the magic smoke comes out of the wires. You'll find the problem then.

Please don't do this unless you like fried wiring harnesses.

Unplug and the radio and clock. See if the fuse pops then.

Measure from fuse load to ground and see what ohm value you get. You'll have an idea if you're dealing with a direct short or something above the amp rating of the fuse.

Replace the fuse with a bulb can be helpful for troubleshooting. Start by half splitting the circuit and energizing known good loads, add on loads slowly while monitoring current.
