    One coat hide my ass.

A little doodle I did planning something else was still somewhat wet when I painted over it and you can still see it coming through, glad I did two coats of primer, and got enough paint for two coats too.

Took me about 2 gallons to do the walls ceiling and the desks on top of the Kilz.

    Coat 1 done.

They ain't kidding it makes the room feel smaller.

    Very cozy I like it.

    Aforementioned doodle.
    PXL_20220317_084806998.jpg

I also lost a bet to 7th grade me and had to slap up one of these bad boys too.

    PXL_20220317_031604688.jpg

Can't see that one covered up but irregardless everything definitely needs a 2nd coat even if it already looks great.

So thanks @Not a golfer and whomever else steered me in the right direction of "one coat" being marketing wank.

Before painting I knew I would be replacing the outlets and switches so I found the best ones in the room and swapped then out for the worst ones else where in the house so I could just paint over ones I was cool with throwing away as they keep the wires free of paint.

Keeping my brushes and tray wet for tomorrow's second coat.

    PXL_20220317_085839871.jpg

And accelerating drying with clean air circulation!

    PXL_20220317_085825267.jpg

Little spooky in there right now with the lights off, it's like turning the room off too.

Well you've been busy. It's going to look great when you're all done. I see you've got a few tricks up your sleeve! keeping paint tools wrapped for over night (I do this for short periods time). After you've covered tray keep it in a cool area it's also helps. I usually wrap my paint sleeve still on the paint cage in a plastic bag and I clean my brush for over night (I use Purdy brushes and like to take extra care so they keep their shape). You can place the sleeve in the fridge (never the freezer) just take it out before to warm it up before usage. Using a fan for air movement in a closed off room helps with dry time.

    You'd make a great apprentice!

LMAO at your comment about one coat coverage (Yeah I'm never a fan of using only one coat!)

Thank you for mentioning me and others.

Always glad to share my painting advise for you or anyone else who asks.

Never been a fan of power rollers

But it really doesn't matter how you get there

Main goal is to have the finish coat look good in the end

Saves a lot of time/frustration which in my case pushes the project motivation enough that I am finally getting it done.

Downside is I think 1/4" nap power roller covers are not available so am using 3/8". It comes out fine with the 3/8" so I decided to roll with it.

You didn't go wrong with the tape

Scribe the tape with a putty knife to make sure it's completely flat at edge

Never use tape as a slop guard

Brush up to the tape using it as a guide

When I want a super crisp edge. I'll seal the tape with the color of what I'm painting over. Let it dry than do my finish color.

Yes scoring the tape before removing is wise

Don't pull the tape straight up. Carefully pull off to the side making a cutting affect with the tape away from the fresh paint

So if you got black on the white. You can clean it off with Goof Off. Dampen a rag place rag on small putty knife and gently rub the black off. Be careful because you can remove the white if you get to aggressive. Work up and down the surface not to much in one area at a time because that's when the Goof Off can soften the white.

After cleaning up the edge retape. Using my taping and painting suggestion carefully redo the edge only with a small brush (like 1" brush). I think it should blend in without having to roll out the area again.

I always use a 1/2" or 3/4" rolling walls. You get more mileage out of a roller full and sometimes lite orange peel from a heavier roller is your best friend (it helps hind wall imperfections)

I didn't realize IR reflections in VR gaming was an issue?

When doing full body tracking especially; glass top desks, shiny screens, even glossy or bright paint can induce duplicate false tracking points hopefully this eliminates that.

Plus as this room will be a gaming/theater room having it be dark with indirect mood lighting should really concentrate immersion.

I do believe their algorithm suggests videos based on your interests...
