FWIW, the website lists 6 gauge steel but no weight. That's a bit shy of 1/4" plate. My guess is that puppy is going to be pretty heavy after you include mounts, shackles, winch tray, and braces.

I don't suppose there are any easy solutions like airbags or some other kind of spring stiffeners?

Yep, you are going to need at least 650 pound springs, 700 if you are planning on adding a winch. There are a couple of threads on here where you can find some information about similar bumpers. Google "3rd gen tacoma front bumpers tacomaworld."

Jesus those bumpers you linked are monstrous… Have you looked at C4 fab, BAMF, or relentless fab bumpers. I’d put an order soon bc you’ll be waiting couple months

There was an entire front bumper, assembled, for sale in the 3rd gen buy sale trade a while back for 500 bucks. You would have to get it painted but I bet even with shipping it would be less money? I don't know if it is still there or not.

My question is...did you kill the deer? If yes, did you take it home and dress it out?
I love venison and if I ever hit a deer it's coming home.

    That changes everything!

Also I have no intention of adding a winch any time in the near future. Maybe if the truck still has any left left once I don't need it for work anymore

We sell these bumpers on our site and I have the one from the second photo on my personal Tacoma. Super sturdy and not a bank-breaker. I've loved my Schrockworks bumper.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested in getting more info on any of these

Has anyone here used these things?

If so, I’m curious if the OEM grill remains stable, since it appears you lose the plastic ledge that both connects the two bumper caps together and supports the lower part of the grill.

And, if anyone has used the pre-painted versions of these, was the paint match to the truck acceptably close?
