But thats not what YOU wrote in your first post, you wrote that it was broken and then implied the dealership was screwing you by not replacing it.

    To refresh everyones memory:

    Dealer Warranty Denied
"I say its broken/split and they say its normal."

Now when no one is agreeing with your incorrect assumption you've changed your tone and say, oh I was just asking.

Dealerships can be a pain in the rear, and so can customers. I'm all for bashing dealerships when deserved and they deserve it many times. I can only imagine what was said between the service writers when you drove off.

Personally I believe you are lucky the dealership "denied your warranty claim" as the repair would have most likely broken, bent, scratched other items under your hood.

You want a friendly relationship with service writers so that if you ever need them to go to bat for you on a substantial warranty claim, they'll do it because they recall you as an easy going chill guy.

Actually i said. I say its broken/split and they say its normal. Can anyone confirm?

I also wrote Thank you just asking if it's broken or not. It's a $6 part that I will replace myself if it's actually broken. "If" being the operative word.

. But, yes I was pretty sure it was broken. It appears I was wrong but that's OK.

Yes I was easy going and totally chill about it, they said it was normal and I said great.. proceeded to ask here to confirm. Dealerships are scum, but I know how to act. Anything else you wish to assume about my actions? Did you have fun?

Further, it's a simple bracket with 1 bolt, no scratches or other broken parts involved unless your an idiot.

You never NEED a dealership. They really are a dime a dozen. If you feel you need a dealership your either poor, cheap or can't turn a wrench for shit. So which one are you?

That third one may be true, but your first two points are asinine. Dealerships notoriously cost more money, so why would a poor or cheap person go to them?

And just to touch on the white paint issue. From my little bit research, it sounds like the failed white paint is primarily found on Tacomas with the reddish primer rather than the gray primer. The reddish primered vehicles are supposedly from Mexico.

My '17 is white and has the gray primer. I know this from the various rock chips here and there. But, no paint peeling as seen on other rigs.

I dont want to jinx myself, but my white paint is just fine, aside from the stone chips.
