Really wanting to get a pop up camper.

Looking at a few different brands.

Can you tell me why you chose the one you did and what your add ons are?

I’m looking to get tires, wheels and lift/leaf so want to do it right for when I get a camper

6112's/5160's with Deaver stage 3, GFC camper, Evo 10S and home-built bed drawers. Solar w/100 Ah battery.
Just had a GoFastCamper installed on my 2nd gen DCSB a couple weeks ago. To support that and the winch I added 6112's with 650 lb. springs on the front and Deaver Expedition Stage 2 in the back with 5160's. Building bed drawers, installed today with 1 drawer (2nd draw will be a couple more months, it will likely be a kitchen setup). I'll throw some pics up in the next few days. Pending connection of 100aH Lithium Battery to power my dual zone ice chest. Just laid out the ice chest, 5-gallon water jugs and metal gas can in the back and all fits on 1 side leaving open area on the other side.

Why GFC? I wanted a shell, but I can't sleep in a SB with a shell and didn't want to tow. GFC seemed to be the lowest cost option that gave the shell and RTT, plus it's light weight, American made and had the best lead times. There were some others out there but significantly higher cost and/or longer lead times. The GFC sleeps 2 comfortably and has room below for my daughter on the drawers. I expect to be solo 80% of the time but have options with the family.

The truck should be good for wheeling, hunting, fishing, camping and whatever else I want to do.

    My $.02

rtt = roof top tent. Many out there, the GFC combines the shell and 2 person rtt.

GFC is essentially a $9k RTT on top of a canopy. No power, water, solar, shower, toilet, heater, kitchen. Creeping up to $10,000+ gets you into actual camper territory, where you can actually live in with options. GFC is a niche market IMO and nothing more than an overpriced RTT that you can access from inside.

Ya true. The big difference for me is the ones that acutely have, sink, stove, etc inside, for that same price point

You don't care for the GFC, do you have some other setups you prefer?

I was checking out the 4 wheel camper project M. Seems similar to GFC with different design

I prefer pulling into a Hilton property when I'm done with wherever I went for the day :)

yes, several! I’m simply running an RLD canopy with a RTT that can be removed. It offers me everything the gfc offers except being able to enter the tent from the interior and cost half the price.

The Super Pacific, Alu Cab, 4 wheel campers, and the Kimbo are all better options IMO.
