You won't need it with this tune but nothing negative will happen with you leaving it on.

ECT is like a true sport mode with this tune...it moves. You probably wouldn't want to drive around on ECT all the time, and definitely don't need to as the truck has way more power with this tune.

The fastest way I have found to get the learned values to relearn is to do the following:
    • Idle with all accessories turned off and let the engine get to operating temperature (176°F minimum) then wait 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes, make sure your idle speed is within the appropriate range (550-650 for AT's).
      • This is recommended by Toyota.
    • Drive around a few miles while stopping and shutting off the engine (I typically stop at a gas station and grab something to drink).
    • Repeat driving around two or three more times at different speeds and acceleration and you'll find that the truck has started to smooth out quite a bit.
Also, ECT always on is no issue at all, although, like it was previously mentioned, it isn't necessary. Don't have too much fun driving around! ;)

Almost a tank and as half into the Nexus+P tune and I decided to use ECT yesterday on my way home. My wife actually asked what I was smiling about when I walked in the door  I haven't had ECT make this much of a difference since I bought the truck in 2017.

This sounds like exactly what I am looking for. Aside from loss of power due to altitude, any issues with this tune at 6k ft altitude? Regardless, I am in for one. My truck runs great, but I know that the camry with the same engine is running at 300bhp, so this tune just brings this engine to where it should be, imo.

Gotcha thanks. I'll see how it does later today. I let it idle for 10 mins after the reset and it was still idling at 1,000 rpms after that 10 min, though it was pretty cold out so I may just need to let it sit longer.

@Chadr7858 may be able to chime in on the elevation.

Did you have the heater or defrost running? That could increase the RPM's since you're adding load to the engine.

Anyone available to assist with tuning on Colorado western slope (Montrose)? Can also make a day trip to Denver or Colorado Springs if necessary. Thanks

But he's been playing hard to get every time I've mentioned it to him ;)

So.... Last time I flashed a tune was for KDMAX Pro. It appears that this tune needs the newest version of vftuner, no problem download -> install. But now it's acting like it can't get to some remote server to verify my unlocked vins and ecu ids. ... Same problem on two laptops with the added bonus I can't register the software on the second one because of a connection timeout.

Is anybody else having this problem or am I special?

I got the info. Unfortunately, my son needed a surgical procedure on Tuesday for a broken arm and I was out of the mix. We will collectively review your log data and come up with a solution.

Finally got +P Premium loaded up today.

Only put about 8 miles on it to test it but damn it runs like a raped ape. Gobs of power. Shifts are crisp and quick. Really wakes up the 3.5l

I’m sure once the engine adapts it’ll get better as well. So far so good. Well done guys!

    Hey Nexus team:

This looks good and I'll wager it took a lot of effort to get to this point. Well done.

    1. How will future internal & VF tuner updates be handled, i.e., at what point will there be an additional cost to the end user?
