If you are just doing two puddle lights, you are probably okay tapping into the a-pillar and running it off there. I did the same @oostroma did with the oznium dimmer fed from the DSIM to trigger it. Works great and I don’t have to worry about the extra amps. I am not sure if DSIM still makes the a-pillar version though? I think he switched it to the cargo switch. I could be wrong.

Thank you for all of the responses! They were coated 3 years ago and I'll be reaching out to the vendor to let them know and see what they say. The salt has been brutal for the past few years so I'm not going to hold it against them.

I spent today getting them off. Kind of a pain but thankful they were only bolt-on and that the rust didn't spread to the frame at all. I'm glad that my truck is undercoated but even with it I noticed the exhaust is starting to look a little rough in spots. Truck looks odd to me but I'll be leaving them off for at least a month. In theory I'll have a garage then and the truck wont have to sit outside rusting 24/7

I'm thinking line-x might be the way to go and I'll have them coat my bumper as well. Although I might get tempted to replace them.

I'm a bit jealous of that color. Nice trucks!

Huge reason why I went with bolt-on armor! Glad to see that it actually has value as a decision.
I spent a lot of extra time prepping the surfaces that were going to be sandwiched against the armor too.

After installing my rear bumper, I noticed a big gap in between the tailgate and bumper so I added a rear light bar that acts as a turn signal, reverse light, brake lights and hazard lights, all for $20. Feeling proud of myself. :p

@Nexusix ... This question ^^^^^ and also, did you have to cut the rear fender lower sides?

No cutting at all, it was a perfect replacement.

How easy was the viper cut? It seems straight forward.

Custom installed some scratches on my bumper when my foaming gun fell apart on me.

I’m going to be in the corner sobbing. I’m starting the process to get it fixed but it feels bad.

Cut is stupid easy, just use tape to make a line where you want to cut. I taped and re-taped 3-4 times before I got what I wanted. Measure twice-cut once!
Edge trim covers up the edge. Big thing for me was folding/fastening the remainder of the inner fender liner to protect fog lights.
    I used a heat gun, big help!

I put that light strip in down there because I blocked my 3rd brake light with the Softopper. I think that is a ticketable offense. But definitely could come into play if ever I was rear-ended.

I was able to divert my light strip around the spare tire jack hole. No restrictions to access it.

Thanks that helped a lot. I was wondering about the inner fenders but figured you could use a heat gun. With the 33s and off roading I need to do the viper cut for no more rubbing.

Do you have any pics from the front?

    You're welcome:cheers:
Mine never rubbed with 33's, but it looks real nice. If you look at my pic and then trim the inner a little once you make the cut, you'll see how to fold/heat and bolt the two pieces together using the OEM fastener that you just cut out!

NO - NOT the light strip!

I was talking about blocking the 3rd brake light. That is an offense. Poor sentence structure on my part.

I've heard that one could even get a ticket for blocking it with a high cargo load, but I think you'd really have to piss-off the traffic cop for him to go that far!

I was really pleased to see that a Hilux in Japan had the 3rd BL mounted in the top outside (duh!) of the tailgate. That would work perfectly for Softoppers and/or hard shells missing it.
