This looked like a place to post this question though it's more about cleaning up from a Taco than detailing it.

I had a bad leak in my Taco power steering line and before I could get it fixed it left a couple large spots on my asphalt driveway. Pretty much the whole reservoir leaked out. I used kitty litter and kept up with it after it was discovered but the initial leak was bad and I have since used Dawn and a scrub brush to clean it. It made little difference and the spots are still slick with the fluid.

Since this area is about cleaning I thought maybe someone here would have a suggestion on an alternate means to clean the spots.

    thanks

Dish soap, stiff bristle brush...scrub your heart out.

Maybe time to seal the driveway after that which would certainly cover up any further discoloration.

Use Purple Power degreaser diluted 50/50 with water in a spray bottle. Spray it on the stain/spot liberally, work it in with stiff bristle brush or broom, let stand for about 5-10 minutes, and rinse it off with a garden hose. Repeat as necessary until it's gone.

I used this for a really bad oil stain in my driveway a few years and it worked great. Purple Power is a fantastic degreaser but be careful, it's very powerful and at full strenght it can do some damage to some surfaces.

Use Tide granular laundry soap and engine degreaser !!!

1)spray engine degreaser onto stain and let it soak in , repeat 2-3x's

    2) With a garden hose spray water onto the stained area

    3) pour a cup of Tide laundry soap onto the stain

    4) With coarse bristle brush push broom scrub the stain for a few minutes then rinse off . Repeat until clean

Cornstarch will help draw out the oil, after that, degreaser, scrub and thorough rinse. Keep in mind the PS fluid is dissolving the tar in your asphalt driveway, same thing happens with tire/trim shine or certain undercarriage sprays like CG barebones, so unless you are able to get all of it off and out, it will continue to show as a stain. cornstach works great for soaking up the oil

I has an oil spot on the driveway too. I ended up pressure washing the whole driveway and then sealing it with a roll on brush
