Hey TACO Owners, I have a 2020 TACO TRD OFF ROAD 4X4 Crew. I added a rear left for extra capacity when towing. It gave the rear a 1" lift. I want to lift the front an inch and upgrade all 4 struts/shocks for better on and off road handling, especially off road. But I don't want to go crazy with price. Should I get TRD PRO Struts and shocks? Or is there something else?

Bilstein 5100s. You can add up to 2.5". Stop at 1" and call it a day.

5100’s and swapping over your old coil springs to the shocks would be perfect for you

I'm in the same situation, but with extra weight always in the back, it's about like factory.

Bilstein 5100’s are the exact same components used by Toyota for the TRD lift. They just put a TRD sticker on and the boot is a different color.

The fronts are height adjustable, thats how you can lift/level things. They are also designed to work with stock springs... Bilstein offers a limited lifetime warranty on the 5100’s vs 12months on the TRD version.
Either one will work, check pricing and availability and pick from there. 5100’s for the front have been somewhat hard to get lately , rears were available on Amazon today.

Bilstein (24-186728) 5100 Series Shock Absorber https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BYNJ93Q (for 6 lug)

I read a thread that said the 5100s are a much stiffer ride. I would like a good ride on road too.

They're not. And stiffer gives the better on-road ride. What are you actually looking for?

For $2,000.00 my best forever friend recommended the Bilstiens with remote reservoir on the front.
He has more money than I do though.

$2k isn't even in the same stratosphere as what OP is looking for. Bilsteins are like $500

Looking for nice on road and better off road ride than stock TRD OFF ROAD bilsteins. With a 1" lift up front. Thanks all for the advise

My TRD Off Road with 5100's set at 1.1" front and with rear 1" block. LT265/75r16 BFG K0's...still have 1" rake!
Bilstein 5100's are a good way to go...

Can I use my stock springs with the 5100s or do I need to change them too?

Use stock. 5100s are made to use them

The “TRD lift” is indeed a 5100, but valved differently. Having installed and driven both, the TRD version is a clear winner, (from my experience only). Still firm but the compression was noticeably better.

Your truck looks great! I'm doing a 1" lift in front as well. I'm undecided on the rear. How do you like the ride quality on the 1" blocks? Do you notice any vibrations and did you do the ECGS bushing upgrade?
