There is not enough generating capacity in the US to support a large increase in the number of EVs. CA can't even guarantee power to run AC in buildings during the summer.

The only way we could generate enough electricity to do this would be to build a lot of nuclear power plants. It's what France did and what Germany is going to start doing again. Solar and windmills won't do it.

I have not seen much new inventory at my dealers.
    It may get worse.
    Not a political statement below.
Guess what country supposedly makes 80% of the world's artificial sapphire substrates used for chips/integrated circuits? And what will happen to chip availability if they decide to stop exporting said substrates?

Glad I got my truck last December.

Well over time renewables will become more efficient and we may be off nuclear all together. Germany is being bold and shutting down 3 nuke plants. They are struggling because of the current crisis but they will be a good model on what to do and what not to do. But don't worry it all will take time and these cancer causing earth polluting ICE machines will still be around long after we are both gone.

The laws of physics are immutable. You can wish and hope and dream all you want but all you want but solar panels can only produce so much electricity and wind tur binds are no better. When When a wind turbine finishes its 15 year lifespan, it then becomes a source of pollution because the blades can't be recycled they have to be buried.

Then there is the problem of disposing of used lithium ion batteries. That's far more toxic and cancer causing mean then diesel or gasoline gasoline car exhaust.

Used EV batteries are being used as back up systems and recycling plants are being built to recycle them. You need to do more research before stating something as fact when it is not. The laws of reality are clear. EV's are here to stay, hate them or not.

Only if Toyota produces those vehicles in North America, and that isn't a guarantee those vehicles will show up at all.

Back up systems for what, and how many recycling plants are there today? I've done a lot of research on this and there are a lot more issues created and solved.

BTW, don't forget that you will be required to have a built in GPS unit so that the state can charge you the per mile tax that they are going to impose to make up for the gas tax money you aren't going to pay. The state has to pay for those "free" charging stations somehow.
