Rear Seat Delete Decks

A very nice, very expensive one for what it is. It is nicely made but I’m put off by the price.

 

I’m getting lazy in my old age, in the interior swap I did I made a little money. Helped ease the pain a little.

 

Can anyone tell me the thickest soundproof material your are able to use between the floor and also the back wall for Goose Gear delete seat so the factory bolts work?

 

This is quite the thread! Quick question: In the double cab, if the plastic cubbies behind the rear seat are removed can the seat back still be installed and used?

I would like to delete the rear seats (obvious, that's why I'm here). Ideally, I prefer a 60-40 split that would allow for either seat to be installed with the delete remaining in place on the opposite side. I would also like to remove the factory cubby backing and install a backing board to maximize storage space and its potential. If I am able to keep the foot well space free and uncovered, that would be nice.

Any advice is welcome.

 

Yes. My seats are in and the cubbies are in the basement. Sound proofing went in, so nothing rattles around on the metal.

 

Appreciate the reply. I figured that the cubby wouldn't provide any rigidity or stability for the seat back. It's nice to know that I don't need it in there if I want to quick convert from storage to transport, if need be.

 

You can leave them in either way. They just pop out with the plastic plugs. The stuff I have under there is in small bags so it's easy to organize and find stuff.

 

I used two layers myself with no issues reinstalling any bolts at all.

As @Tiny's Taco said, it’s no problem leaving them out and the seats still functioning. It will get somewhat loud from the rear wall pressure vents, sounds like you have a windows partially down. I put acoustic foam over the vents to dampen the noise. It works pretty well.

I’m still in the process of sketching out a platform. It looks like you will need to use 1/4” or 1/2” plywood for the back wall to leave enough of the latching bracket exposed for the seat latch to grab.

 

Which sub box is that?

 

I as well have the Goose Gear in my AC. I love it... looks factory and it's well thought out.

 

Is the road noise loud AF with your alls rear seat delete. Mine seems loud AF with my squeaky leaf springs
