Not picking on this fact, not important, but just for fact's sake, I believe that thread wasn't even originally started by Jerry, it was started by a member requesting replacement hangers, and I believe it was later modified by mods I guess, and given to him. I forgot who started it

All heavy duty hangers are equal but some heavy duty hangers are more equal than others.

My HH hangars are great. I'm still impressed with their quality, heavy duty design, and performance.

Eric was great to work with and even told me to hold off my order for a few days to get the better discount on Black Friday.

It's fun dealing with someone who just does what they say will do. Period. I gravitate towards the inventor/originator of a product when possible, give them my business, and vouch for them when warranted.

Another fab company just listed their imitation not long ago too and it's only a matter of time before a cheap made-in-elsewhere knock-off comes to market on Amazon for a fraction of the cost. However, say what you want about imitation flattery market competition blah blah, people looking for more than just the part will continue to buy @ARCHIVE.

Fwiw, I was pretty set on the hammer hangers but on Black Friday saw bamf’s deal and alllllmost pulled the trigger because they were much cheaper…but then I decided to surf TW some more because I wondered why I saw more Archive posted than any other brand. Within minutes I saw what I needed to and I stuck with my gut and ordered the HH lol. I think most in this thread know how much better quality the Archive kit is…

Good choice, Eric's work attention to detail and drive for refined perfection is unparalleled in the industry from what I have seen.

Do the others "do the job", probably, are they as good? Not in my opinion.

Yea, don’t hear about any fit & finish issues here. Plus I get to support and east coast company for once haha

Everything I have gotten from both Eric and Jerry has been top quality and fit like a glove. I use both of their products and support both of them. As long as the parts work and the prices are fair, I’ll continue to buy from both of them. Waiting on limit strap tabs and fresh U-bolts from Eric to go with my shock relocation from Jerry.

    Eric,

just wanted to reach out and say thank you again for the superb quality (design, end result, fit, finish, customer service, communication, packaging, and shipping). Had everything (ubolt flip stage 4 w/spacers, HH, and HC crossbar) installed by Alcan springs in junction Colorado yesterday while they were installing my new custom 5” 1000lb leaf packs.

the 600 mile drive home yesterday from Colorado ( arriving at midnight) this morning was the best drive I have had in my truck. The handling ( complete lack of sway) planted rear, felt more like my past z06 corvette or 370z’s while driving through the twisties in Colorado ( monarch pass, salida, gunnison) and that is remarkable for a 6” lifted DCSB on 35 with 1000lbs over stock in the rear (static).

Been thinking about these for a while. Looking at the stock ones, they don't look crazy flimsy on my 2019.

Would anyone be willing to record accelerometer data before and after on the same section of road? I'm happy to try running some frequency analysis.

The stock hangers are identical from 2005 to 2022, no change, they act like a spring...connected to another spring (leaf pack). 2000-2006 Tundra hangers don't look that bad but they also ruin the ride. Verdict is Toyota sucks at making shackle-in-tension hangers.
Just buy a set of Hammer hangers and feel the difference. See reviews in post #1.

I've noticed the shaking over ruts in the rod, hoping to decrease it. What axis is poorly controlled for the stock hangers? Linear (driver-passenger, front-rear) or torsion (vertical through the truck)?

The stock hangers look about as beefy as the c-channel frame, how much of a difference do the hangers make w/ vs w/out the cross tube? Looking to keep my spare tire under the bed.

I know it's hard to believe Toyota would make such a poor performing part, but it is a fact. I haven't seen another shackle hanger designed like it, its an atrocious design.

Up and down which affects ride quality as frame and bed bounce on stock hangers, and side to side which you feel as rear sway (sway gets worse as you add rear weight).

Reality is, Hh make a big difference. The people who install Hammer hangers as the only change at one time are people who realize how much Hh do.

Adding the cross makes a further noticeable difference

Thanks for explaining that to me. Is there any good way of keeping your spare tire and not relocating it? Perhaps a cross tube that goes up and back? Happy to fabricate it myself.

Still would love to grab that accelerometer data if anyone wants to run a test together :)
Physics Toolbox for Android can record at ~400hz on my phone which is plenty.

    Stock-ish

If you have the fabrication skills, doing 63s is about $900 cheaper than hangers/name brand leafs. I can do a 63 swap maybe two hours over the time as HH's take, there's not much too it. My 63s max out my 14s, so doing 16s here in a couple weeks. Another plus about the 63s, is you can find spare leafs in just about any junkyard or parts store, and with overloads in you now have a one ton truck lol.

Otherwise if you don't have the fab skills, hammer hangers are the way to go. I've installed probably 5 sets in the last month or two and the fit and quality couldn't be better. Have heard nothing but good from the people I've installed them for! Also just did a set of Archive leafs on a truck as well, super well made pack. Definitely dig the bolt holes for the ebrake cables, its the little things like that that I appreciate

I tagged you on IG but god damn I'm amazed how well these things held up after 3+ years and a ton of hard hits. I'm 2wd and I have to haul ass to get over/through the shit my friends crawl over. These things don't even look like they've seen dirt. It's hard to give them up but I'm glad one of my best friends can use them next. .....and a gratuitous pic of the AllPro leafs, Ubolt flip, GM bump & triple bypass remote resi Kings that I never managed to max out the abilities of.

Our stuff works, just trim the badly designed 2nd leave

OME springs will cut up stock shackles with stock hangers. Fix the problem, the OME springs
