Fitted(temporarily) and stocked my Engel fridge.




And a couple without the gallon water jug.

 

Installed Explore Overland sliders today pretty easy but the install video must be from an older model cause there were some differences. Some things I found were.

1. They have gotten rid of the two off axis mounting points under the frame.
2. They include 4 square washers but you only use three a side so if you are freaking out about extra hardware don't.
3. The drivers side is by far a bigger pain in the ass than the passenger side.
4. To get the bar inside and where you need it to be I used a needle nose vice grips to be able to control it better. This was the cause of the most swearing. The drivers side especially.
5. I didn't want one bolt facing the opposite way so I cut one bolt short by 5 threads. The ABS box fits over it.
6. You have to trim a little bit of plastic on the passenger side box two slots with a Dremel easy.
7. Some of the lines will be in contact with the bolts. I was worried about this being a point of abrasion failure and either bent them a bit or protected them.

Not a difficult install just getting into the proper position was tough with my long arms. EO was great about answering questions and the build is solid.

Also, yesterday swapped some stuff. Baja’s to SS3 Pro’s. Here’s some side by sides for those interested.

 

I’ve heard about the discoloration on BD’s. That’s pretty bad!

Accent nicely with the TRD faux-pro shift knob.
Also did the TVD decal chrome delete but I think I will eventually go the MESO route.

 

Also found that the plastic ammo cans from Harbor Freight fit nicely behind the rear seats. Using one for basic tool storage, the other for first aid supplies.

 

Yeah I figure if I make a mistake I can always go with a full bumper!

 

First day of spring and reasonable weather so I removed the chin strap in preparation for installing a Greenlane Offroad skid plate. It really does look a lot better with out it! I think I'm safe to swap my winter wheels for my new TRD's with Wildpeaks too.

 

Fabricated a fuse block bracket since the clutch reservoir is in the way on the manuals. Paint is next.

Swapped out the license bulbs for Diode Dynamics HP3s(5000k.) Took about forever to figure out how to remove the covers. Kinda embarrassing that it only takes about 5 seconds once you know the trick to it. Then put the glare blockers on. Sorry no night time pics.





Also found a good spot for a hide-a-key, which only has the spare key to the cap. The spare truck fob is locked inside the cap and contained in the homemade faraday shield

Finally applied RainX to the windshield and various other windows. There really wasn't any good days to do it since I picked up the truck at the end of November. I need to get some new towels soon.

 

Installed these Tyger kick rails today. Now the kidlet can get in easier and dang, they look cool.
