CV axle without C clip won’t go in

Stuck at trying to reinstall my CV axles after a regear and a front ARB locker. I’ve been at it all day and have searched around on here to see if anyone’s have had the same issue. I’ve taken out the c clip just to see if I can stab it into the differential but it still isn’t going in it seems to be catching on something. Attached is a picture of where it is catching, I’ve looked inside the passenger tube/long side of diff and there’s nothing in the way.
