Most people don’t do well or have no formal training or knowledge in recoil management.

The C-grip use to be the appropriate technique before forward grips became all the rage. Then variations of the angled grips came about to give some ease to that same c grip principle to help shoulder the rifle, lock the wrist and drive the gun as one should.

Locking the support wrist and with inward elbows is a key component for handgun recoil management as well. It definitely doesn’t feel good, or natural. A part of why I not so secretly scoff at people looking for guns that “fit their hand.”

Makes sense, with the little experience I have this is what works best for me (that I’ve found so far), it’s not comfortable per se but I feel like I have good control with this grip.

I picked up a Delton .223/.556 a couple of years ago before prices went "ballistic"
Great gun, I put an inexpensive blue/green/red scope on it. I can hit 400 yards all day long. I made a huge mistake of converting it to make it "California Compliant". Stupid is as Stupid does. Big pain in the butt to reload.

So improper planning led to piss poor results and I'm switching things up and lighting more $ on fire

Wifey has told me the 11.5 BCM pistol is the "rifle" she likes most. Makes sense it's the lightest and easiest to maneuver and shoots pretty soft with the can and geissele super 42 h3 spring/buffer. What I didn't anticipate was her astigmatism rendering my MRO red dot basically useless to her. She sees like 2 dots and giant starbursts looking through it.

I like the BCM a lot but hate the pistol brace so it will become her primary and I'm starting to piece together a SOLGW 13.9 with pin/weld keymo mount making it 16 inch. Going to move the MRO over to it maybe add a PA long eye relief 3x magnifier for now. Prob go high end 1-6 LPVO in future.

Then get her a Swampfox Blade prism with green reticle which will be clean and crisp with her astigmatism.

I've got a line on a Juliet magnifier for cheap through work that I'm probably gonna pick up, or I'll just rob my vortex magnifier off my dads rifle since he doesn't see the need for optics on a rifle, I appreciate the offer though!

Good Lord man if I had no optics on a rifle I wouldn’t be able to see at this point

He can’t see either, he’s just a Fudd (makes sense that his name is Elmer) so his “I’m prepared for SHTF” means that he has a few guns and some ammo and he shoots maybe once a year, has the teacup and saucer grip when he shoots a pistol, and doesn’t have a single semi-auto “battle” rifle that has an optic and sling, and forget a light on a gun, either long gun or pistol.

I guess I became a gear qu**r because he doesn’t have anything besides bare rifles or hunting rifles that have scopes.

That was me until a couple of years ago. I had my shotguns and hunting rifles and my idea of being ready for SHTF was I could get my own food and we could grow our own veggies so we were good. I had no conceal permit and never carried, I still don’t much. Life went on and I was happy until we had a scary experience camping once and then the shut downs happened and all that changed my outlook on being ready and being secure. So I altered my thinking and have been working on it ever since.

Very nice I'd love to build a 556 pistol but i keep getting side tracked. Are you just going to run it without a brace? I am thinking i will just remove the brace on the 9mm when they make the rule changes.
