Advice Michelin LTX M/S2?

I've had the old style Michelin LTX M/S's on my two Dodge Rams and on three Tacomas and liked them a lot. Most of our driving is on open highways and about eight miles of gravel road daily. Got great wear and for our purpose great traction. Not much rock and gravel throwing. No wheel damage from sand or gravel or road chemicals on any of the trucks.

I'm sure the new M/S2 is a great tire, but my concern is whether or not they will cause road rash on the new TRD Sport wheels that Toyota is replacing my damaged rims with. The original rims on my 2011 TRD Sport went bad after being driven during a two week period of very "crappy " roads. I think the original Sport rims got messed up because of their design, the quality of their clearcoat and the Dunlop AT20's which were very prone to throwing sand and gravel.

The manager of my local Michelin store was pretty sure that the new Michelin M/S 2's would be less prone to throwing sand and gravel than the Dunlops...both because of their design and tread compound.

Any advice?

I have had the M/S 2 tires since October 2010, no issues with the rims, or the tires throwing stuff.

I have the old M/S and they are great. No problems, ride great. I had BFG AT before and the M/S are sooooo much better on the road. Only tire I will ever buy from now on. Love them!!
