That is back from June 18th, a guy told me to call my insurance company cause we’ve had a lot of wind lately and lost a few shingles. They came by and looked at it Friday, he called me today. Insurance has already paid us electronically 2/3rds of the estimate and said send pictures when it’s done and they’ll send the rest

I called the guy from that quote, he is sticking to it and said he should be able to get it done this week

 

1) It's amazing insurance is actually doing their job.

2) It's ABSOLUTELY amazing he's sticking with a 9 month old quote!

 

I couldn’t believe it, our roof is old and the guy even told me that. I can’t believe the other guy is sticking to it too, he even told me about the chimney and had the dimensions.

 

i painted my newly built winch assembly when I took it off for the year.

 

I had a *healthy* young lady come in the Maintenance shop one day quite embarrassed, she realized that the shirt she was wearing showed more than she was comfortable with when she raised her arms, something her job required her to do.

I sent her off to the ladies room with my desk stapler, she modded her shirt and corrected the problem.

The next day she brought me home made cookies. Score one for good customer service.

 

Hah, there's been more than one occasion we've taped up shoes and pants with our 200mph Nascar style tape (for pulling new conveyor belts). We've occasionally loaned our Cat II work pants to a couple managers to get them through their shift. Of course I gotta be the guy to size up the person The maintenance shop is more than fixing equipment it seems. I'm also fully first aid certified so I've done my fair share of some pretty gruesome temporary first aid till we can get them to the ambulance situations. Several times I've led the EMT's into the scene (I'm not moving anybody who can't on their own...) My job pays me well, so I don't really mind.

 

Yea there's been some interesting ones...

My one famous saying is "don't stick your hands where you wouldn't put your dick." Well of my newer co-workers put that in their training book as advice from more "senior techs". I was slightly scolded for that one
