    Hello all,
I'm trying to decide what my best course of actions is and I've decided to make this thread to hopefully catch a couple helpful souls that really know the inner workings of the 4-cylinder 2TR-FE engine..
So to make an arduous story brief yesterday I messed up and somehow over torqued and broke the coolant temperature sensor off in the engine block and then ignorantly ended up screwing it fully into the block by not using left handed drill bits while trying to use a screw extractor.
I posted about the situation here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/big-snafu-need-help-assessing.757746/
There have been some interesting suggestions.. the two I'm currently suggesting:
Since the end of the sensor is still visible, cleaning it with brake cleaner and attaching a modified screw driver to the end w/ epoxy, letting it bond for the 4-6hrs and then trying to back it out by hand.. but more enticing simply due to the possibility it wouldn't cause issues and the ease is the suggestion to push it further in and let it ride.. I'm hoping there's someone(s) out there that knows this engine well enough to say if this second idea is a good one that wouldn't affect the engine in the long run.. or even if someone knows if that area is accessible as I am also considering taking it to a mech Monday to get the head pulled..
    Any input is appreciated

Is the broke off sensor end stuck in the head or the block? There are multiplr coolant holes between the head and block and I bet they are smaller than the size of the sensor. Sensor end should stay lodged inside the head somewhere and not really cause any issue that I could imagine. It's just a water jacket In the head and doesn't have any moving parts or anything.

It has fallen through and I installed a new sensor.. several others have said the same think about it staying lodged and not causing issues.. my only concern would be the wraps of teflon tape..

I’m not an expert but I would think the Teflon tape would stay stuck to the threads. It’s a chore to pull off anyway. If the thread tape does come off it’s just very thin plastic anyways and I don’t think it would hurt the water pump. It may get stuck in the radiator or heater core but there would be so little of it I doubt you would ever have a problem from it
