Anytime Foglight mod explained electrical (diagrams)

Can u explain this more? Is the thin blade on both ends of your wire? Then you just shove it in both places most people are splicing? Or

 

Did anyone ever do a video of this nice blade “no splice” method mod. ? I dunno about y’all but I’ve done mods on my truck and my dads truck and boy what a difference a video makes! Instructions are usually garbage on mods or not even close to my second gen model. Biggest thing I also wanna see is a CLOSE up spot on pic of the little blade connector and where it goes in association with the green ignition wire. Everyone’s pics seem miles away and off center so u can’t see where one is supposed to insert said tiny blade connector.

If it takes only 10 mins or “seconds” let’s go y’all ! Or as Shannon Briggs would say “LETS GO CHAMP!” Seriously. It would eliminate so many questions on here. Who’s up for the task!? We got a weekend in front of us GUYS!

 

Well I decided to just go for it today Found a little piece of wire with one of those blade connectors on it from an extra harness that came with my remote start kit that I didn’t need to use.. The wire was short tho and I wasn’t sure it was gonna fit. Had to trim back some of my shrink wrap to get it to maneuver and bend like I needed it to at the curve points. But it barely made it. Hence why the white wrap is trimmed back so much. I hope it’s ok that my blade part is sticking out the way it is. I plugged it in right next to that green wire like the guy did that came up with the no splice hack @jivewalker
Hope he approves of my wiring.? But it works! Literally was a 10 second mod once I got the relay out. Bent it quick and hooked my female connector to it and then plugged in that wire. I didn’t even disconnect the battery cable. (Hope that’s fine) oops. But dam. The hardest part of the mod was getting my fuse box top off and back on!! I have some thick gauge wires in that area and not much room to work with either. Also my audio installer decided to mount the amp fuse right there where I needed my fingers to go so I had to unscrew that mount. Perhaps you can see on the pic I took of my engine bay, the proximity of ALL THE THINGS on top of that fuse box area!! Other than that ......10 second mod Sure hope I don’t have to access the fuse box anytime soon! Pics below. Meant to capture pic of the wire before. Had a hell of a time getting the blade connector out of the harness despite having a pin disconnector little device and watching some unhelpful YouTubes. Ended up getting my dewalt oscillating tool to the plastic on the harness and muscling it out ! **NOT sure why it rotated most of my pictures**

I have an ‘08 as well and would like to do it this way also. Would I be able to easily find blade connectors at the local automotive parts stores? Thanks

 

Not sure if auto store would have, I took mine from an old stereo harness.

 

I ended up just twisting the wire and tucking it in . No drilling either. Works great

 

IGN tap from under/inside the engine fuse box

 

When I did the fog lights on my hunnys 2013 Tacoma I teed into the rear park lights. Works great for us. if there’s any down falls that anyone knows of plz let me know. Did this about 2 months ago and is still good. Bought a kit off of Amazon and put yellow leds in cause we get a fair amount of fog here. They are very bright and actually work better than the head lights.
