So I’ve had a weird sound begin what I’m assuming is recently. I always have my radio up loud. My wife likes to drive around with no sound at all. She drove the truck this past weekend and said there’s a noise when she’s hitting the brakes. I drove my kid to school early this morning and I drove with the radio off. When decelerating and using the engine almost as a “brake” it sounds like it’s clacking like an 18 wheeler would when downshifting. It’s obviously not as loud as an 18 wheeler but with the radio off it sounds like it is coming from the engine compartment. Almost like a valve knocking that was remedied by a TSB.

As I am continuing onto work right now I noticed it has gone away. My kids school is less than 10 minutes from the house so I’m now wondering if it correlates with the temperature of the engine as well.

Again, I don’t know how long this is been going on I used to drive around with music going. It could’ve started this weekend it could have started last year for all I know.

Trying to find a way to upload a video from my phone. Drove around just now and got a pretty good representation of what I’m talking about

Easiest way would be to upload the video to youtube then post the link to the video here. As far as I know Tacomaworld does not let you upload videos.
