So Ive read all the threads, Red line MT90 etc etc.

I'm running MT90 and I've noticed the little syncro crunch is worse when the gearbox is up to temp. "Crunch" might be a harsh word, it's more like a slight notch.

Anyway, when it's cold... not so much.

Anyone dare say they've tried thicker fluid? Friction modifier?

I wouldn't try any friction modifier but it sounds like you might benefit from a little thicker flavor.

I use MT90 as well and have noticed the same thing. I cant remember if that was normal when I had the stock fluid in there

I have met professionals who think MT90 is trash.
It did not seem to perform too well in my truck either. I switched to Amsoil to try something new.

some people even mix their own home brew combination of different viscosities based on what cold shift properties they want based on where they live and the temperatures there.
Or even thinner oils like 75w80, at least on other cars.

Running amsoil and it's been good. Never tried the mt90 to compare.
