Am I splitting hairs about this color match

Recently had a leer topper installed on my truck to the tune of $4200 (Alaska). Anyway, my truck is Lunar Rock and I’m not sure I’m satisfied with the color match, but I’m wondering if this is enough variation for Leer to repaint it, or if I’m just expecting too much.

How close does this look to you all? Anybody with a Lunar Rock topper care to post a picture of theirs?

I would never notice that, so I would say you're splitting hairs IMO.

I feel like pictures never do these types of things justice. If you feel led to post about it, reach out to who you bought it from. That being said, based on these pics alone, I'd be happier than ever with the job.

Fresh paint and also two different materials. Paint isn’t gonna appear the same. Odds are your plastic bumpers may even look a little off as well.

Thanks for all who replied. I’ve decided it’s not worth my time to complain about it. It’s close enough and by the time it gets dirty this summer it’s all going to look the same anyway.

Also, like the person above said, I have other parts that don’t quite match. I noticed that the day I bought it, my grill surround looks slightly different, almost identical to the topper, but different from the rest of the truck.

    things could always be worse.

I know you’re gonna let it go, but it’s worth saying that paint matching by paint code only is rarely an exact match. If you bring your car to a body shop to have a ding or chip repaired, and the blemish is within about 6” to the next door or panel, a good body shop will normally paint the next panel over too (even though there’s nothing wrong with it) just to make sure the paint fades and blends nicely so one panel doesn’t stand out from the next (like your topper slightly does). Considering your topper isn’t even the same material as the rest of the truck, and all Leer has to go on is Toyota’s paint code, this is realistically the best you can ask for unless you pay a lot of money for a custom color match paint job. My cement-colored Snugtop topper is a close match, but I knew it probably wasn’t going to be 100%.

This right here. Most body shops will warn you about this type of issue before repainting. I'd say OP got a good match all things considered. I didn't notice the disparity until the 3rd photo.
