Groomer injured my dog

Has anyone ever experienced a problem with a groomer?

Long story short my dog needed an MRI to find she has a spinal cord injury at the base of her neck/brainstem causing temporary/transient paralysis.

We suspect she was left unattended and jumped from a grooming table while connected with a slip lead - causing her to hang for an unknown amount of time. The groomer will not comply with questions and denies any wrong doing.

She is my service dog - I am a veteran

 

I've never had an issue with a groomer

Tell them your story. The pressure alone from them will highlight the shop and hopefully they'll either be out of business or do you the right thing.
If it were me I already would've punched somebody in the face. But those days are over.

I reached out to the local group called pawws.org She seems like she wants to help.

Ive been grieving since this all began. Her neurologist seems to think surgery could help - I just know she is suffering.

That's fucked up! I've heard of a bunch of issues with groomers because they hire teenagers to handle the animals and they are not responsible enough. sorry man!

 

I'm with you. Even if all they do is tell you what happened, it might help with the treatment/recovery.

That is horrible, she should admit she is responsible and pay the vet bills. Really sad to here this and hope your dog comes around !!!!

 

First: i am sorry as a dog lover. Can you prove it? Is there video? If not, likely out of luck with any recourse as it’s your word against theirs

 

Dog goes in heathy and comes out with major injuries?

 

This just makes me sad and angry. Is there any video evidence? Any smart vet has video cameras and not just for security but for liability purposes. I would go in and see where the cameras are. Does the grooming area have camera coverage and if so request a copy of the video. If they refuse than you know someone is guilty. This could be a long and windy legal road but you have to do what you have to do. Dog goes in health and comes out injured sounds pretty cut and dry. My heart goes out to you my friend. I love my dogs more than people! I'm sorry to hear about this, hopefully the truth comes to light. I can't believe someone just didn't say "I'm so sorry we had an accident..........."

 

This is heartbreaking to hear. My dog once tried to jump, while being groomed. Fortunately, I was standing right there watching, and I caught her.
