    Hey TW -

This morning when I started my truck it started to squeal bad. I get the normal squeal when it’s cold out for the first 2 minutes the truck is on; but today it just kept going and getting more loud during acceleration.

I got about half a mile from my house this morning and decided to just pull over because the noise was so bad.

Anyone ever experienced this? I thought it was the serp belt but it doesn’t sound like it’s coming from there.

here’s a link to the video I just took:

What year is your truck. I have 2019 and the serpentine belt was recalled. Had a similar sound. Dealer replaced at no charge.

2016 TRD Sport M/T - out of warranty last year.

I don’t think it’s the serp belt; just sounds too metallic/screechy.

You’re right though, I should swap it out just to see if it’ll fix it.

I appreciate your input and time!

Belt. I can hear the pully chirping from it.
Some might tell you it's a fuel pump issue but just about every time it's been the belt. Before you start it up cold, spray something soapy on the belt first then fire it up. If it doesn't make sound for a couple of seconds it's that fun belt.

Start with the belt, it's a common 3rd gen problem, and it's cheap and easy. Just get any premium belt from advance auto or carquest ect...

New quality brand belt and your noise issues will disappear unless the tensioner also needs replacing.

My tensioner bearing went out at about 30k. Dealer would've replaced it but they're a long way from me, so I changed it out. Doesn't take long to do and the squeal goes away.

I had my belt swapped to the V one due to the noise.
